Marietta Water Cleans Up Stream

Chop Tim Tires

Group3Marietta Water organized a stream cleanup for department employees.  In just a few hours our staff removed 1,900 pounds of trash out of a small section of Marietta's Rottenwood Creek!  More than half a dozen shopping carts, tires, plastic bags, clothing and various pieces of litter were collected from the creek and taken to the landfill.  Unfortunately, our water resources are often taken for granted.  It is terribly sad to see our creeks littered with discarded garbage.  Clean Water Week is a good reminder that it takes all of us working together as a community to protect our waterways and environment.  The employees at Marietta Water want to keep our community beautiful!  We invite you to join us!

If you are interested in participating in a stream cleanup, check out the upcoming community cleanup on October 14th with Keep Marietta and Keep Cobb Beautiful!
